I recently had the pleasure of painting guests at Somerley House in Ringwood! This was a grand South Asian wedding and the venue was absolutely beautiful. Guests had a wonderful time getting their portraits painted, and I even did a special mini portrait of the bride and groom too.

This was an amazing event in collaboration with Circular Threads and Eternity. Circular Threads is an initiative that helps Asian fashion get a second life and wear, and Eternity is a multi use wedding planning platform. This event brought together prominent influencers from the fashion, wedding and beauty realms to try the clothes, and I got the wonderful opportunity to paint them! It was such a fun event and the sleek, modern surroundings of The Lab in East Village, Stratford, was an amazing venue for the evening.
This picturesque venue is called Manor by The Lake. With Italianate gardens, manicured lawns and topiary, and an fairytale manor house - it was a dream venue to paint at last summer.

As I don't live anywhere near Staffordshire, and needed to be at the venue bright and early, I had to stay overnight the night before at a nearby B&B. I usually do this when I have a venue that's further than 2 hours away from me (that's my cut off driving time). Unfortunately it wasn't a particularly great place to stay so I won't link it here to recommend it to others, but it allowed me to have a good rest ready for the day ahead. I know other wedding suppliers and vendors who literally buy converted vans to sleep in, to cut down costs when travelling and working, but I'd rather stick to B&Bs, hotels and Airbnbs for now!

Doing live wedding painting or live guest portraits in the UK can be a different experience to live painting in other countries. The main difference being... the weather!
