I have seen this happen so many times when couples want to book a live wedding painting for their special day, so I thought I would share it here on the blog and ensure that you don't make the same mistake too.
Check the style of your live wedding painter's paintings!
Scroll down their instagram feed, look on their website, and properly check their brochure. You need to see if their style and painting technique is something you like. If you find yourself thinking 'I wish they wouldn't use such bold colours' or 'I'm not so keen on the way they paint faces', then that is not the live painter for you. It's a common misconception that artists can copy any style. Your live wedding painter will paint in their own special style, and even if they try to copy another painter, it won't look exactly the same.
Some couples message a live painter and find out that they can't do their date, or are too expensive for their budget. So they message another wedding painter and send over photographs of the other painter's work, hoping they can replicate it. Unfortunately this just won't work and the couple will end up disappointed with their painting.
With so many different styles of wedding painting, there is definitely a live wedding painter out there for everyone! So make sure you check that you love your painter's style before you book.
